Moodle integration suggestions

We are planning to integrate TODCM with Moodle in a future release. Please provide your suggestions and ideas on how this integration should behave.

Here is what I think:

Moodle side:
1. A new Moodle plugin for TODCM.
2. Allows a teacher to link a Moodle course with a TODCM course.
3. The option to create a Moodle skeleton course based on the units from the linked TODCM course.
5. Users with Moodle course read access can read the linked TODCM course units from within Moodle.

TODCM side:
1. Just a URL link to the linked Moodle course.

May be a single-sign-on between TODCM and Moodle too if our schedule allows.

Your suggestion for the Moodle plugin looks good to start. But you should really consider single-signon as a priority as well.

I have a hard choice to make - Should I do a quick job that only works if both Moodle and TODCM are on one single physical server or make the SSO compatible where Moodle and TODCM can be on different servers. The latter requires a lot more work but a much better solution. I really like to make it work in any server combo but time and budget are big concerns for me right now.

I think it will be a quick and dirty implementation to make it work for a single server first and then put in the better solution later, I'll make sure the later solution is backward compatible with the first implementation.

Hi David

Any news about the Moodle Todcm integration ? also regarding the SSO ?
Todcm has great potentials as an open source software. More advertisement on todcm is needed, perhaps target Rubicon users too. I tested Rubicon, but I think todcm has really more poetentials as an open source.

Also, do you work with resellers?

Hi Ammarmerhbi,

Sorry, I have different priorities right now and can't spare my time with the Moodle integration in the next few months. I have checked out some other curriculum mapping solutions myself and I know that are many areas that TODCM is superior compared to them regardless TODCM being open source or not.

For SSO, I am writing a LDAP plugin that will allow auto generation of users within TODCM. This is not exactly SSO but it would help speed up the actual SSO implementation later.

Yes, I do work with resellers if anyone is interested.
