Installation issues

Postby tozel » November 7th, 2011, 7:26 pm

Hi,

I am having a problem during the installation. The error is below:
Perform Final Installation (Step 5 of 5)
* Setting TODCM configuration file "C:\wamp\www\config.php":
Done

* Copy CGI executable from
C:\wamp\www\install\binary\mimetex\win\mimetex_i386.exe to
C:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.2.21\cgi-bin\mimetex_i386.exe:
Done

* Install TODCM database:
Database connect error after account setup, aborted. Please restart your installation again.

I am using wampserver 2.2 (apache 2.2.21, php 5.3.8, mysql 5.5.16) on vista home premium 32-bit. I uninstalled wampserver, deleted the folder that left behind and then reinstalled it. I still got the same error. I tried the installation on another computer with win 7, it worked. Is there any log during the installation so that I can pinpoint the problem? I provided the root password to mysql during the installation. Thank you.

ok, I fixed the problem. I don't know what it was but I fixed it by creating the user and the database using sqlbuddy. I had tried the same thing by using mysql console but it didn't work.

Looks like your particular environment does not allow TODCM/PHP to connect to MySQL as root to create the non-root DB user. But, it worked after you created the DB user manually. I'll put this issue into our issue tracker. Thanks.

Actually, the program had access to MySQL because I saw that the user and the database were created already during my multiple unsuccessful trials. It just couldn't create the tables I think. And the user todcm were granted all rights on the database. I just wanted to give you some details to help with the process.

Thanks for the additional info. So, it is the newly created MySQL DB user that TODCM fails to connect. I will try to duplicate your environment with php 5.3.8 and mysql 5.5.16 and see if I can get it to fail.
