All the setup requirements can be added through the admin control panel:
You can add users using the built-in user management interface. Or, you can have someone or a company to perform a bulk import for you. The import data usually comes from your back-end database such as a student information system.
The TODCM installation adds 3 schools by default. You can add new ones, rename them or delete them. Please refer to the School management section for more detail
The TODCM installation adds 15 grades by default - EC3 to Grade 12. You can add new ones, rename them or delete them. Please refer to the Grade Management section for more detail.
The TODCM installation adds several common departments by default. You can rename or disable these departments.
The TODCM installation does not include any courses. You can use the admin course management interface to add courses or have someone to perform a bulk import. The import data usually comes from your back-end database such as a student information system. You will also need to assign course teachers to each course. The course teachers can be read-only or editor. Please refer to the course management documentation for more detail.
For most schools these are a must for a working curriculum mapping system. These can be entered individually using the admin interface. But, there may be thousands of them therefore you are most likely in need of a bulk import for them. The bulk import for these 3 groups of data will required data from at least 5 individual database tables and it is very complex therefore it is best to find a capable company such as http://todcm.com to perform the import.
Strand is depended on a department so the strand and all related standards and benchmarks would show up for one particular department.
Standard is linked to a strand.
Benchmark is linked to standard and also linked to 2 grade levels – minimum grade and maximum grade. A benchmark is only visible from within the unit page according to the grade levels assigned.
If you already have well-defined learning targets and there is a lot of them then a bulk import is suggested or you can enter them individually to each course.
Essential questions are department based. You can enter them using the admin EQ management interface.
